The GN symposium this weekend was a lot classier than I expected- had no idea what to expect, but it was mostly professionally-attended and in a branch of the NYC public library. (a few blocks from the Lions, Dr. Venkman)
Crif Dog was a ZOO and we couldn't fit inside. Did I get a weird look from one of you guys sitting there in an Achewood shirt? The face was familiar and it felt like we were spies.
Picked up the new KIRBY: King of Comics book and am loving it so far. Mark Evanier is a damn good explainer. He's making me love Golden Age comics for the first time.
David reminded of my favorite minicomic tribute to Spider-Man as well. Go blow some productivity on that.
This weekend's big discovery: Dean Haspiel is utterly deserving of his LJ name. |

Writing Indie Rock Pete douchery is great for getting some of my own douchery out of my system. I must confess that outside of the video for Sabotage, I've never been able to get into a non-remixed Beastie Boys song. I guess I missed being a proper MTV white kid. |
