so much for coffee.
Well, I pretty much had the best cup of coffee in my life last night. I am not sure if this is good or bad because it's very similar to having that one excellent love in your life that every subsequent person will have to be compared to.

John A sent me a tiny packet of Kopi Luwak beans a few months back for my birthday. There was a little private shindig at my favorite local coffee joint last night and I availed upon the head coffee-bot to open up the espresso machine and make some shots.

4 Shots of the world's rarest and most expensive coffee went through a gorgeous espresso machine more valuable than my car. Then they all went straight through my mouth and into the ol' G.I. tract. I cannot even put words to how perfect this cup of coffee was. It was as good as my personal life is bad! (It was that good)

The last time I had a cup of coffee this stunning was the first time i'd tried Jamaican Blue Mountain beans, about eight years ago. Had my drink at 10pm, still had a buzz at 9am when I woke up. This is the kind of coffee you renounce your religion and sell your child for.

My poops today have been of equally amazing quality. It's a shame there's only "so much" room inside of me to cram full of magic.

******

In other news, I made some knitting shirts because the only decent people I know are knitters. (And there's about 50 of them in my email inbox asking for the shirts)

Where in hell did John get hold of that in Britain? I've been looking for it for almost a year, and have as such, not found a gram in the Uk.

It's a coffee worth trying. I didn't think it was the best I'd ever had - it was different. It had more flavors and less aftertaste.

Where did you order it? I got mine from Raven's Brew.

The packaging said it came from here: http://www.animalcoffee.com/

I'm certainly not properly trained as a coffee expert, but I drink enough to know when something smacks me as very different and good. Raven's Brew in general is some awesome stuff, I can only imagine how nice their cat poop coffee is.

The nice thing about great cups of coffee (like great love) is that there is more than one way to be great (or an excellent beverage). And although you might never find a cup of coffee great in the exact same way, there will be others great in their own way, rest assured.

When I first got back from Venezuela I was depressed thinking I could never again drink coffee as wonderful as what I had left behind, but I was wrong!

Eh, I'm desperately waiting for the knitting fad to fade away.

On the subject of coffee, however, do you have any advice for those of us who hate coffee? I simply find it bitter and about as thoroughly unpleasant as possible. I enjoy the smell of coffee, but the taste is repulsive. I doubt it will ever best my intense love for tea, but I certainly wouldn't mind if I could find a way to actually enjoy a cup of coffee. Especially since Americans seems almost completely incapable of making a decent cup of tea, let alone one without sugar, lemon, milk or any other heathen form of adulteration.

my advice is to learn to drink GOOD coffee. stay away from sugary junk, buy beans that are freshly roasted and brew them mere moments before drinking. sip it slowly and fall in love over time.

Hey! I DO things! I do LOTS of things!

I think I'm fairly enthusiastic. I mean, you're one of my LJ friends fer chrissake. I sent for free stickers! Come on, love me!

I hike, backpack, ride horses, do outdoorsy stuff in general, plus I'm into martial arts and I'm a deadhead ((leave me alone!) I'm the kind that showers, shaves, and doesn't do heroin). Oh, I'm also a scientist and computer enthusiast.

Make products about that sort of stuff and I'll be all over it like you on poop-coffee.
